Stabilized fibroblast growth factor 10 is a revolutionary hair growth-promoting ingredient that solves the instability of growth factors in cosmetics
WHAT DOES IT DO?
- Enhances hair follicle activity
- Elongates anagen phase of hair cycle
- Activates keratinocytes
- Reduces microinflammation that causes hair loss
- No stabilizing additives
- Cost-effective
COMPETITIVE ADVANTAGE
Native growth factors suffer from low stability limiting their utilization in cosmetics during production, transport and application. FGF10-STAB® outperforms native forms of growth factors due to its significantly improved stability

OUR PARTNERS
FGF10-STAB® is a stabilized variant of native fibroblast growth factor 10 (FGF10). FGF10 is an active molecule with essential signalling role in human cells. The mechanism of action of FGF10-STAB is exactly the same as the native FGF10 and it retains full biological activity.

Native FGF10, often referred as the Wild-Type (WT), suffers from very low stability. Its biological half-life at 37°C is just 11 hours and its concentration at room temperature drops to 60% in 1 week and to 40% in 8 weeks Therefore, native FGF10 is useless as a cosmetic ingredient and all cosmetic products based on native FGF10 contain literally a “dead” molecule.
FGF10-STAB® is stabilized by protein engineering directly in the protein structure. In particular, specific amino acids within the protein sequence were replaced with residues increasing the melting temperature. The higher melting temperature results in the higher stability of FGF10-STAB®.
FGF10-STAB® is produced as a liquid solution. Alternatively, a lyophilized powder might be shipped for an extra charge.
Native FGF10 (wild-type) is already on the cosmetics market (INCI: SH-POLYPEPTIDE-10) and it was studied in clinical trials for pharmaceutical development due to its promising efficacy in treating chronic venous ulcers. We did cytotoxicity testing of FGF10-STAB® in a huge excess with no cytotoxicity observation. In contrast to native FGF10, we only improved the stability of the protein, we did not alter the biological activity or mechanism of action. Therefore, in terms of mechanism of action, FGF10-STAB® is the same molecule as native FGF10.
No, we do not use any preservatives. FGF10-STAB® contains only the protein itself dissolved in the physiological solution.
FGF10 (keratinocyte growth factor 2 – KGF 2) regulates proliferation, differentiation, and migration of various cell types. It is necessary not just during organogenesis and lung branching morphogenesis, but also it is involved in the processes of hair growth by hair-follicle cell proliferation. Unlike other ingredients having only supporting role in hair-growth promotion, both FGF10 and FGF10-STAB® have direct biological functions in inducing and prolonging the anagen (growth) phase of hair follicles. It is an active, signalling molecule.
FGF10-STAB® is a recombinant protein produced by microbial fermentation (recombinant expression in bacteria). In short, we cultivate bacterial cells producing FGF10-STAB® in a fermenter, then we break bacterial cells and isolate FGF10-STAB® by series of purification steps. This production type is referred as biotechnology-derived in pharma industry.
FGF10-STAB® is not synthetic; it is produced by microbial fermentation in bacteria. We consider it a natural product.
FGF10-STAB® is a recombinant protein expressed in a modified strain of E. coli. However, FGF10-STAB® comes as a purified protein with no residual GMO content (validated by residual DNA analysis) so it is not categorised as GMO and is safe to be used in cosmetics.
Of course, FGF10-STAB® can be used in hair tonics, serums, masks, and eyelash serums.
This concentration range is based on the in vivo efficacy screening and in vitro cell growth analysis. It is the minimal concentration where the biological effect is observed.
The shelf-life of the aqueous solution of FGF10-STAB® is at least 8 months at room temperature. You can store FGF10-STAB® in refrigerator for even longer stability.
It strongly depends on the quantity. Regular orders are shipped within 25 days.
